April Favourites 2016

Happy May!! It's that time of the month again where we share our favourites from the past month. April was a nice month and now we are into May. For the month of April I got my hands on some goodies that I absolutely fell in love with. Most of them are drugstore and inexpensive!

• Cover Girl Tru Naked eyeshadow palette in Nudes - I also have the goldens palette but I like the colors in the Nudes one better
• W&W Countouring Palette - formula is so buttery and nice!
• UD Sheer Lipstick in Anarchy for that POP of Pink
• Milani Luminoso Blush for the glow!
• Maybelline Master Countour palette - at first I wasn't too sure about this product but then I fell in love. Pigmented and easily blendable!
• ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip Stain in Dopey - FINALLY got my hands on this!
• ColourPop eyeshadow in Amaze - this is a gorgeous copper shade & I LOVE the formula

Sephora VIB Haul 2015

Hi Everyone! Long time no blog... I've been a very busy girl the past couple of months. Been a little busy with some online shopping as well (bad girl!). Who else took advantage of the VIB sale? I guess I was really into Urban Decay this time around. I can't wait to play with everything. I've used some of the items already like the YSL Tint in Oil (I LOVE how they feel on the lips). Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette

I know I said I would post this a few days ago (I purchased this palette over a week ago from Sephora and its just been sitting there) but as usual I have been bad and lost track of time. Bad Christina! But finally, here it is all swatches & all... The Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette. First off, I decided to purchase this one because I felt that the colors were more wearable than the original Vice palette that was released last year. The colors in the Vice 2 palette still had a good mix of neutrals & colors but I think that they are still wearable for every day.

The formulation of Urban Decay eyeshadows are one of my favorites as for the most part they are pretty creamy & pigmented. This palette in particular had some great pigmented shadows. Some were a little glittery / powdery but for the most part I thought the colors offered were pretty.

My faves from the Vice 2 palette have to be: Prank, Damaged, Toxic & Betrayal. If you have the palette too I would love to know which ones are your faves and not so much your faves. One of my least favorite shadows would be Shellshock, too me it was kind of powdery and to silver for my personal preference. Some of the lighter colors in the Vice 2 palette were a bit sheer but I think they are buildable :) For more pictures & swatches be sure to read on.

Too Faced: Pretty Rebel (Swatches)

I purchased this palette about a month or more ago. I have used the lighter / brown shades for a look so far but still want to play around with the other colors. I initially bought this palette for the colors, especially the hot pink because it was pretty unique. Overall, I really like the formulation of the shadows however some of the lighter and darker shades were a little powdery when I did the swatches. Also, I wish the lighter shades were a bit more pigmented but it is still a nice palette. Do any of you have this palette? What are your opinions on it?

July 2013 Favourites

I am totally late on this. My bad! :( I can't believe August is almost half way through... Fall will come knocking very soon. The weather in Vancouver has been incredible these past few weeks and I've been spending a lot of time outside and just enjoying the weather. Vancouver doesn't see much sun the rest of the year... But hopefully the sunshine will stay at least for a few more weeks. Anyway... on to my favourites for the month of July. I focused on quick and easy make-up looks in July because I spent a lot of time outside sweating :P

February 2013 Favourites

I'm a little behind on my favourites (again! no surprises :P) lol. For the month of February I have been trying out some Cover Girl products. When I first started using make-up I had started with some Cover Girl powder and then expanded from there. But as I moved on to other brands I sort of forgot all about Cover Girl... Well except for the lash blast mascara which I still love. Anyways, they have come out with some great products recently and they have made it into my favourites for February! Yay!

• Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation in 920 Creamy Natural - I really like the coverage it gives
• Cover Girl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Coral Twist - Sorta sheer coverage but very nice on the lips :)
• MAC 109 & 217 Brushes - I love the 109 for contouring and the 217 for applying and blending eyeshadow (I can't believe it has taken me this long to purchase the 217!)
• Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Khol Kajal liner in Black - This is a pretty creamy liner that you can smudge to create a nice smokey eye.
• Revlon Colorstay Nail Polish in Blue Slate - I have been loving this blue on my nails!
• Maybelline Vivids in Pink Pop - WOW such a pretty hot pink lipstick!
• Loreal Infalliable Eye Shadow in Amber Rush - Such a pretty wash of colour on the lids.

So... I went to Sephora twice and picked up a bunch of items during the Sephora VIB sale. I am pretty happy with my choices BUT definitely need to calm down with the make-up buying... (Even though I just bought a MAC blush yesterday eeeps). Here is a list of the items I purchased from the sale:

September Favourites 2012

Finalllyyy!! Some time to post my favourites for the month of September!! This past month I have been transitioning into darker colours and more smokey eyes as Summer has ended and the weather her is slowly getting chillier by the minute. I had worn one of my peep toe flats today... bad idea because on my walk to the office my feet were FREEZING! haha I definitely need to break out my fall booties :) And now on to my favourites...

• Loreal Lipstick in Fairest Nude - although I am not a big fan of the scent I absolutely love the colour and this has got to be one of my all time fave nude lipsticks
• MUFE aqua eyes in #16 its a shimmery pink colour! I love it and it stays on for sooo long!
• Maybelline Masterdrama Liner in Bold Brown - I have been loving browns for lining my eyes!
• Maybelline Falsies Flared mascara - I know a lot of other people out there love this mascara too :)
• W&W eyeshadow trio in Walking on Eggshells - such a pretty neutral palette but you can definitely work it to be more smokey!
• Impress Nails by Broadway Nails - They are so easy to apply and come in so many different designs
• Revlon Colorstay Whipped foundation in #320 Warm Golden - this foundation is DA BOMB for my combination skin
• Last but not least... Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Exposed... What can I say? Its freakin gorgeous!!

I've been stalking Youtube and Beauty Blogs for the upcoming holiday launches and OMG I want sooo many things. But I must restrain myself!! Which collections are you guys looking forward to? I think I am most interested in Tarte & MAC (Glamour Daze!)

August Favourites 2012

Sigh. As usual I am super late with my favourites and I could sit here writing down my excuses but I won't... lol :) August went by so fast! I know everyone says that but its true! I'm going to miss Summer, but I'm excited for all the new Fall collections in fashion & beauty. For the month of August I found myself constantly reaching for these items:

• Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm in Lovesick
• Maybelline Age Rewind Treatment Concealer in Medium
• The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer
• Carmex lip ointment because my lips were super dry!
• Maybelline Eyestudio gel liner in Charcoal
• MAC eyeshadows in Amber Lights & Satin Taupe (I wore them separately as a wash of colour on the lids)
• Wet and Wild Heather Silk blush - I loveee this blush, such a pretty pretty colour!
• L'oreal Colour Riche in 174 Rose Taffeta - I saw Chelsea aka. closetoreal haul this on her Instagram and I had to get it! I really like this colour and the formulation of the lipstick is very creamy which I like.

Mini Beauty Haul (Washington Edition)

• Loreal True Match Lumi foundation in Sand Beige (W5)
• Real Techniques powder and blush brush... I have been wanting these forever!
• Two W&W single shadows in Brule and Nutty
• W&W blush in Heather Silk... I've heard some good things about this shade so obviously I had to get my hands on it haha. I already have Pearlescent Pink and I really like it!

And that is all... Just a mini haul I haven't been going too crazy with make-up products lately. I'm trying to control myself but its just so hard with so many new products coming out!!! eeeps!!

I went to my local Sephora last weekend looking to see if they had put the Urban Decay SMOKED palette on the sales floor yet. Unfortunately, they had not :( So... I asked one of the girls who worked there when it would be coming out and they said "Oh we just got it in yesterday, its just in the back" then she proceeded to ask another girl to get it for me! I was so stoked! haha :) 

The packaging is pretty awesome and I think I'm going to get a lot of travel use out of it. The little book that it comes with is cute and it has a few different smokey looks that you can try out. The eye shadows are amazing. I've always been a fan of UD eyeshadows because they are so pigmented and creamy.

I haven't been able to play with this palette yet. But just from swatching the colors I can tell that the quality and pigmentation are great! Can't wait to use the palette for different looks!

My July favourites should be coming up in the next few days... and I am also thinking of doing a what's in my make up bag post... Thanks for reading :) <3
