September Favourites 2016

Gah! I am pretty late for my favourites this month. September went by so fast and was full of changes. I am so excited for the Fall months and the leaves changing. I am not excited for the rain though. For September I was loving a matte face and coppery eyes. Here are my faves for the month of September.

• MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder - for setting my face.

Review: Carlibybel Palette by BH Cosmetics

I got this beauty a couple of days ago in the mail and was so excited to swatch and try the eyeshadows and highlighters out. I've been a fan of Carli and BH Cosmetics for awhile now and was so happy to hear that they were doing a collab. I did stay up on launch day to get my hands on the palette and am happy that I was able to grab one. First off the colours are gorgeous! Loves me some neutral shades. The highlights have to be my favourite of this palette as they are all super pigmented and amazing! You get 10 eyeshadows and 4 highlights in this palette for a great price. I got mine for $12.50 which was the launch price, I am not sure if the price will change any time soon as the palette is currently out of stock but you can submit your email address to be notified when it comes back in stock at BH Cosmetics.

If you would like to see swatches of all the eyeshadows and highlighters they can be found after the jump below. The eyeshadows were all quite creamy and applied well. I thought some of the darker shades were just a tad bit patchy and needed a couple of application to really stand out but they were blendable and lovely for the price of this palette. As I noted above the highlights were my fave! They applied so well with one swipe and were super pigmented.

Overall, this palette is definitely awesome with a price that is equally as awesome! The shades are great for the fall season too as it has some purples and warm tones. Have you guys tried this palette out or have plans to purchase? I would love to hear about your experiences with this palette!

MAC Haul: Alluring Aquatic

Guess what I got yesterday? The MAC Alluring Aquatic collection is gorgeous! This has got to be one of my favourite collections so far. The packaging is so pretty and I love the water droplet detailing. The products are also pretty good too! I love the extra dimension eyeshadows, I swatched them in the store and they were pigmented and beautiful. Here is what I was able to pick up at the launch yesterday:

It'sJudyTime & That'sHeart Palette by BH Cosmetics Haul

To try and make up for the fact that I was half a month late with my favourites I am posting another post! This one is on the It'sJudyTime and That'sHeart Palettes by BH Cosmetics. I purchased these babies a couple of weeks ago on an impulse buy (well most of my cosmetic purchases are impulse buys lol). They arrived a few days ago so I haven't been able to really dig in and use them much. I have swatched some of the shadows and so far so good.

Mini Haul: Sephora Tokidoki

Went to Sephora yesterday and saw that Tokidoki were having a 40% off sale. These are the first products I have gotten from the brand and they are pretty cute :) The packaging for the eye shadows are a bit bulky but the product itself is very nice and has good pigmentation.I love the cute characters on their packages and am excited to try the shadows out.

May Favourites 2012

Why are my favourites post always so late?! *#**#&@&$&# lol :P I didn't use much make-up in the month of May and went for a more natural look. Here are some of the items I reached for most in the month of May.

• PF Happy Booster Blush in Rose
• Essence Stay with Me longlasting lipgloss in My Favorite Milkshake
• Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight in Paris (LOVE the quality and price of this item <3)
• Loreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara
• Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer (Almost half way through this product and I will be repurchasing for sure!)

April Favourites 2012: NYX, MAC, Maybeline & More

Its that time already?! April favourites came way too fast! Anyways here are some of my fave products for the month of April (those items I found myself reaching for the most!)

• Bath & Body Works Pink Chiffon Fine Fragrance Mist - This stuff smells sooo good and I find myself constantly spraying myself with it through out the day. Since it is just a mist the scent does tend to disappear after a few hours. I keep a travalo full of this mist in my purse and take it where ever I go :)
• ECO tools Bronzer Brush - I was watching one of Chelsea's (http://www.youtube.com/xclosetoreal) videos and she had mentioned this brush so I went out to purchase it. Right after using it for the first time I fell in love and have been using it constantly since! Thanks Chelsea!
• MAC Matte Blush in Melba - Love this blush because its the perfect color to give your face a bit of a flush look but it isn't sparkly because its a matte color. I love wearing this blush when I have a dramatic smoky eye :)
• Maybeline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze - This color is perfect for everyday wear! I sometimes just put this on with a bit of liner and mascara and am good to go for the day.
• Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti - A nice coral orange color. Great to give your face a pop of color for the day!
• NYX Butt Naked Palette - This palette has everything you need for eyes, cheeks and contour. Shadows are very nice and I love the blushes that come with this palette. Great for creating neutral and smoky eye looks!

Review: The Balm NUDE'tude Palette

I've been playing with this palette and creating different looks for a few days now and I must say I am really liking this product. The palette comes with 12 awesome eye shadows that are great quality. It has a mixture of Matte, Shimmer and Glittery shadows which you can mix and match to create various looks from a neutral eye to a extreme smoky eye.

My two favourite shadows from the palette have to be Selfish and Stand-offish. Selfish is a gorgeous deep taupe shimmery colour and Stand-offish is a pretty pink champagne shadow. 

I've used both Selfish and Stand-offish together with a bit of Sleek (a deep matte brown) for a smoky look and I am absolutely loving the effect it gives on the eyes. These shadows are very buttery and last a good amount of time. Pigmentation is also not bad, some shadows are a bit more powdery / sheer than others but overall they are all pretty good. I would recommend this palette if you are looking for neutral shadows which you can use for both light and darker smoky looks. Have any of you tried this palette yet? Let me know below!

This is a collective haul for the month of April. I actually didn't buy too much this month and I am trying to use up what I have in my collection. Many of you must have already seen blog posts and videos about the Reel Sexy and In Extra Dimension collections from MAC. I stopped by my MAC counter the day of the release and picked up three items. I wanted more but held myself back. The eye shadows in the In Extra Dimension collection were really pretty, but I decided to get the more neutral champagne color (not that I needed anymore neutral shadows...). It is really similar to the MSF I bought in Superb but it is a bit lighter which I liked. I have used it a couple times since I purchased it and the texture and color payoff of the shadow & MSF is really great! 

From the Reel Sexy collection I wanted to get more lip products but decided on only one lipstick. This color is perfect for Spring / Summer which is why I bought it haha. I thought I owned something similar but after going through my lipstick collection I found that this shade was a bit more lighter and orange toned than other lipsticks I have. 

The item I purchased from NARS using my Sephora Beauty Insider 15% off discount was the eye shadow duo in Tzarine. I have been looking at this product for awhile now but couldn't justify buying it at the time. When the 15% off sale came along it was the first thing I picked up. NARS eye shadows are pretty nice and this duo is no exception. I really love the light highlight color and the silver color and together they make a really nice smoky eye look. I do recommend this duo! It is actually my first NARS eye shadow duo, so I am super excited to use it more :)

Haute Look Haulin: NYX Cosmetics

Last month Haute Look had NYX on their site and I really wanted to grab some items. One of the things I really wanted was the Butt Naked palette which was on sale for $15. The NYX store where I live priced it at $28... so almost 50% off I could not pass! I also purchased 3 blushes (not that I need any more blushes) but they were just so pretty and I was really tempted... haha I think the trio of blushes came in at $11 which was not a bad deal at all! If you guys have not checked out Haute Look I totally recommend it for discount designer clothes, shoes, accessories and beauty products. March Favourites 2012

I didn't wear that much make-up in the month of March and went for a more fresh faced look. I kept it simple with liner, mascara and just a pop of colour. So, here are some of the products I kept reaching for in the month of March :) (I know this is pretty late as usual... my bad!)

Sephora + Pantone Universe collection!

I went to Sephora a few days ago and saw that the Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year collection was released and decided to pick up two items. I picked up the eyeshadow quad and the blush duo. The pigmentation of the products is alright and the consistency is ok. The packaging of the quad and blush reminds me a lot of inglot and it is also quite heavy. I'm not sure how I feel about the magnets yet... What I purchased these items for was the colors! I think the colors in the blush duo and the quad will work for different skin tones. 

Has anyone else purchased these products or any of the other items in the collection? Let me know what you think bellow :)
